HELEN OF TROY (featuring former members of THE STATE SECEDES, TETSUO, I AM THE RESURRECTION) is an intense combination of perpetual noise and aesthetic harmonies bound together with synthetic, hallucinogenic space-crash effects. forming as an active traditional 5 piece line up (drums, bass, 2 guitars and vocals) in late 1999, THE TROY is a project assembled in an almost nonexistent scene, consisting mostly of young musicians who have no relation or care for trendy scene politics. the staple of the bands ideas s based upon a free-spirited punk ideology of strongly expressing sound through creativity, aggression and furious beauty. coming off a successful summer tour of the midwest, southeast, and east coast, with I AM THE RESURRECTION, from New York, THE TROY powerfully promoted their first release, the desperation EP on TOKYO FIST RECORDS. the EP was received with potent response and vigor. the band will go on tour in late march to support their upcoming split 7" with KOBRA KHAN from germany. accompanying them on tour will be HESTON RIFLE also of New York City. following the release of the split 7" with KOBRA KHAN, HELEN OF TROY will be releasing a split LP with HESTON RIFLE, followed by a full U.S. and european tour. although THE TROY has made fortunate progress on record, the live demonstration of the bands powerful instrumentation and tangible emotion felt through their music must be witnessed for the full understanding of the intensity and brutal human expression.
